Alexis Bittar es de esos diseñadores que viven el diseño desde su más tierna infancia. Apasionado de las antigüedades, del Art-Deco y del cristal de Lalique, a sus 22 años comenzó a crear joyeria semipreciosa para venderlas en las calles del Soho, NY. Su creaciones dramáticas fueron rapidamente captadas por los buyers de las tiendas de lujo de todo el mundo, consiguiendo un éxito instantáneo. Su diseños de culto son deseados por A-listers como Cameron Diaz o Madonna y su creatividad le ha llevado a colaborar con alguno de los diseñadores más importantes como Michael Kors o Burberry. Aqui os dejo alguna de sus creaciones para la colección Primavera/Verano 2010.

Alexis Bittar is one of those designers who live for designing since its very childhood years. Fueled by his passion for antiques, Art-Deco and Lalique glass, at age 22 Bittar began designing semi-precious jewelry, selling it on the streets of Soho, NY. His bold designs quickly caught the eye of luxury store buyers from all over the world and of A-list celebrities such as Cameron Diaz and Madonna. His extreme creative attitude has taken Alexis to collaborate with some of the world’s most renowned fashion designers, designing exclusive runways collections for both Michael Kors and Burberry. Here you have some of his designs for Spring/Summer 2010.

¿Volcán o bomba?  pues mira, cada uno que interprete lo que más le guste, la cuestión es que no te puedes perder las últimas super camisetas de Christopher Kane. El diseñador nobel británico, además de su colección y de ser el director creativo de la linea Versus  de Versace, ha tenido todo un hit con sus camisetas y vestido de gorilas enfurecidos, de sus cocodrilos enseñando dientes para Topshop, y ahora llegan estas explosiones de humo coloristas. Su textura viscosa y su look over hace que sea una camiseta para un chico o un vestido para chica, serán las camisetas más vistas la próxima primavera…

A volcano or a bomb? well, you can choose whatever you prefer it to be, the point is you can’t miss the latest superb t-shirt from Christopher Kane. The young designer, known for its own label and for being the creative director of Versus, has had a hit with his famous t-shirts of angry gorillas or his cocodriles for Topshop, but now he does it again with colourful explosions. Its viscose texture and its look so over works well for both men and women so they’ll be the it t-shirts for next Spring…

El dicho ese que dice que después de una tormenta viene la calma, se convierte en todo lo contrario en la última colección de Versace para la próxima primavera, que después de unas temporadas con una gran calma, regresa a sus orígenes. La tormenta para Versace significa lo que de verdad es Versace: exceso, estampados barrocos, color, medusa, provocación, sexy, curvas…..todos esos adjetivos que han definido la casa italiana desde que Gianni la creara hace 30 años. Este frenesí llega con un cambio general en la compañia y esto se refleja con las ganas de Donatella de recuperar su sello original, para continuar lo que su hermano dejó. Lo anterior era demasiado limpio, demasiado sobrio….simplemente no era Versace.

The saying that after the storm the sun comes out is turned upside down with the latest Spring/Summer Versace collection. After a big calm, Versace starts over again storming the idea of why Versace is what it is: excess, baroque prints, colourful, medusa, provocation, sexiness, curves….These adjectives have shaped the Italian house since Gianni created it 30 years ago. This makeover goes with a genral change in the company and you can see this in Donatella’s attitude to get back its original signature, to continue her brother’s legacy. What we saw before this was too clean, too plain….it simply wasn’t Versace.

IVÁN SOLDO – Cuando hace ya algunos años, no diré cuantos, me encontraba flyers de algunas discotecas de Madrid ilustradas con chicos y chicas radiantes de felicidad y estilo, solo sentia curiosidad por quien se ocultaba detrás de estos dibujos con los cuales me sentia tan identificado, no solo por su ideal de belleza sino por su perfecta expresión hedonística de la moda, por que creo que la moda tal cual la representa Iván genera atracción y deseo. Pero claro está, yo no era el único que entendia ese lenguaje, con el tiempo sus ilustraciones pasaron a estar en las mejores revistas de moda, los mejores libros de diseño, las mejores marcas, e incluso wallpapers. Afortunadamente nos encontramos y nació una colaboración con Elite donde Iván ha sabido transmitir con sus chicos y sus chicas nuestro mix de estilos, ha creado una imagen corporativa y publicidad de la cual nos sentimos muy orgullosos, y particularmente afortunado por estar más cerca de su fashion pack. www.ivansoldo.com

IVÁN SOLDO – Many years ago (won’t say how many) I used to find flyers all over the city from some clubs in Madrid illustrated with stylish and happy men and women and I felt really curious about the person behind these drawings that I was identified with, not only for its immense beauty but for its perfect hedonistic expression of fashion; I think that fashion, as seen by Iván, is drawn to feel attraction and desire. But obviously I wasn’t  the only one who understood his visual language, the most important fashion magazines did, as well as design books,the best brands and even a wallpaper company. Luckily we met and the collaboration with Elite was born. Iván has transferred to his boys and girls our mix of styles, he’s created our company images and advertising campaigns as well, and we are so proud of it!  I feel really lucky to be closer to Mr. Soldo’s fashion pack. www.ivansoldo.com

Ya justo cuando pensabas que nadie podría reinventar el modelo piloto de gafas de sol, llega la marca alemana MYKITA y lo hace. Tengo que decir que son las gafas más ligeras que he visto en mi vida, en todos sus modelos.
Pero este en concreto, me tiene ganado por las lentes espejos y por sus colores tan increibles. Tan increibles son que  SJP (o mejor dicho, Patricia Field ) ha elegido este modelo en color oro para la próxima entrega de Sex and the City . Si ya nos las han quitado de las manos en la tienda sin mucha publicidad, no quiero pensar lo que va a pasar a partir de ahora. Mejor que te des prisa!

Just when you thought nobody could reinvent the aviator sunglasses, here comes German brand  MYKYTA  and does it really well. I have to say these are the lightest sunglasses I’ve ever seen in my entire life.
But I particularly  love this aviator style with its mirrored lenses and its amazing colours.  So amazing they are that SJP ( well, Patricia Field) has chosen it in gold for the next movie of Sex and the City. We’re already running out of them without any advertising so imagine what’t gonna happen from now on. You better hurry up!
